26.3LAB04.4 is an exhibition of Justin Ridler’s recent work. A journey of connection and informal discovery, where multiple iterations of work emerge through both staged and naturally occurring collisions — offering a vision of a utopian future.

Justin Ridler invited collaborators to join him in a project of play and togetherness. Ridler’s project has developed over multiple existences and through sharing resources, collaborating across disciplines and embracing the new – this expanding library of work was built with a process of unpredictable chaos and resolution. The space At the above will be open to the public and through a series of digital and physical works the viewer can follow on this journey – this experience is further enhanced by immersive digital experiences.

Presented by ATA in collaboration with Boom Studios and Phoria as part of Melbourne Design Week 2021, an initiative of the Victorian Government in collaboration with the NGV.

Open 27.3 — 01.4.21
12 — 5pm

With previous collaborations ranging from Louis Vuitton director, Virgil Abloh to iconic film director, Baz Luhrmann, Justin Ridler has transcended the boundaries of what multi-disciplinary artists are capable of. As a leading artist, photographer and image maker, Ridler continues to help mould our cultural landscape both nationally, and around the globe.

This exhibition takes place on the lands of the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation. We pay our deepest respects to the Traditional Custodians of the land, as well as their elders, past, present, and emerging. We recognise the cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the oldest continuous living cultures in human history and acknowledge traditions of storytelling that form part of this. We also acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.
